Organizer and eligibility

Each tournament must identify its organizer, supported locations, minimum age and any entry restrictions. Contests in the app must be sponsored by the app developer. Private events may restrict registration to invited players. The final event rules must be available before entry.

Entry conditions

Publish the format, time control, start time and time zone, registration deadline, minimum/maximum entrants and any check-in requirement. Disclose the entry amount, asset, network, fees and total before confirmation. State what happens if there are too few eligible or funded entrants; do not imply registration guarantees a prize.

Scoring and tie-breaks

Publish the exact rules for the chosen format. The reviewed backend supports single elimination and round robin. Its round-robin ranking compares points, wins and original seed; the official event rules must confirm the scoring values and every tie-break. Knockout draw replay, forfeits and any final tie resolution must also match deployed behavior.

Prizes

Publish the prize pool or guaranteed prize, payout allocation, treatment of tied placements, asset/network, eligibility checks and expected settlement process. Do not promise a guaranteed payout or fixed distribution until the event terms and financial implementation are verified.

Cancellations and interruptions

State the permitted cancellation windows and conditions, any refunds and their handling, and the policy for server faults, missed rounds and disconnects. Started staked tournaments have backend/on-chain cancellation limits, so this template does not promise automatic cancellation or full refunds in every circumstance.

Disqualification and appeals

Apply the published fair-play rules. Describe evidence review, disqualification grounds, consequences for results/prizes and the appeal route before an event begins. Do not promise prize forfeiture or redistribution that the deployed system cannot perform.

Apple is not involved

Apple is not a sponsor of, or involved in, ChessDict tournaments, contests or their prizes in any manner. This statement and the official contest rules must also be accessible inside the app.
